Escape to The Bahamas

I hate packing… but packing to go to Bahamas – now that’s exciting. Me and Evan C. King (My trusty sidekick) were off to film Neha & Prakash’s Lost City Wedding and on the way we thought we can film our journey there. This was our first destination wedding but we got inside tips from some friends of ours (Saluting Michael Y. Wong). Oddly enough the weather wasn’t what we expected but the scenery was beautiful so it didn’t hold us back. We will be posting up their wedding soon so check back often.

Kalailkal 2010 Commercial

The Kailaikal Team had been rigourously working on the 2009 Kalaikal Show for quite some time. They approached me knowing that they wanted a commercial but let me work on the concept – which I appreciate. So they gathered a great team to market this years Kalaikal Show; Tharan from Naritus for the web work, Theskar from Delcord Media for the graphic designs and yours truly for the video and motion graphics.

The commercial was fully done from top to bottom – one day for filming the dancers and then a couple of days for the post work. Unfortunately I could not attend the show as I had another shoot that same day, but the show turned out fantastic from what I hear. Congrats to the Kalaikal Team for a putting on a great show and also to the winners of the competition – York University Huskies.

2007 Suvudukkal Highlight

The talent in the Tamil community keeps growing as the generation keeps developing. University of Toronto in Mississauga and their Tamil Student Association held a cultural program at the Living Arts Centre. This event was packed with amazing talents; singing, dancing, dramas etc… Had alot of fun filming the event, with Thad Jayaseelan as the second camera operator. This highlight clip will be featured on the upcoming DVD release as the introduction clip.

Bloom Highlight Reel

Justin Ruttan of Cherish Events had asked me if I wanted to be involved in a fundraiser: Friends for Life Bike Rally which was associated with the People with Aids Foundation. How could I resist it? the night was full of fun, food, entertainment, prizes etc. Patricia of Patricia Li Photography had some awesome images, take a look:

DEFY 2007 – DYAC Highlight Reel

It’s nice to see groups like DYAC helping the youths of today. They had organized a full day workshop for the kids, which took place at the North York Civic Centre on October, 6th 2007. It was a gloomy and rainy day but the event turned out to be anything but that. The participants and the coordinators did an excellent job in creating awareness about the issues of our youths in our communities. I had the privilege to capture the day’s events as it happened, no planned shooting, it was to be a candid/documentary style of shooting. As they want to grow their message among youths, DYAC members wanted to showcase the day as it took place and what other way to do this then with a promo reel.
